SEVEN BAR OWNERS CHARGED FOR LOUD MUSIC OVER THE HOLIDAYS

Molepolole police have charged seven bar owners for operating musical instruments at a high volume to the annoyance of inhabitants over easter holidays.

Superintendent Benedict Matlho said the bar owners we caught playing loud music from huge speakers placed outside thier bars. He said this disturbs the peace and irritates neighbours because the culprits never bother control the noise.

He said the noise has to be within the premises and the music equipment played should not be taken outside the bar.
The charge carries a fine not exceeding P1000 for a first offenders, and P2000 for a repeat offenders and or imprisonment term not exceeding 6 months. Some bar owners have paid and others are yet to pay.
