Located in Letlhakeng village, the boarding school is a definition of challenges.
The school has fifty one classes, seventeen classes per stream and a total enrollment of 1516 students. Out of this number, 750 are boarding students.
This year, four hundred form 1 students will come to school everyday with no notebooks to take notes. More than half of the student population will have to improvise by taking notes on thier laps, that is if you are lucky to find a chair, owing to shortage of desks. The situation is dire.
In a bid to help the school raise funds for desks and books, the school patron Kgosi Gopadileng Astley Gopadileng (aka Astley Gops) assembled artists from Letlhakeng and surrounding areas in a charity concert dubbed ‘the legend give back bash.’ to be held on the 3rd March 2023 at the school.
The artists include, Solly Sebotso, Astley Gops, Dj Snaps, Zobas crew, Machesa and Odizzy Na Nazah and many more. Proceeds from this event will also be used to buy toiletry for those who are coming from less priviledged homes and not under the care of social workers.
“Some of the students ba tswa mo malapeng a itlhokang and bana ba felela ba sa ithute sentle. Ba felela ba ngwega go a go kopa melora,” explained Astley Gops.
