Bakang Masole, an accused in the murder of taxi driver Phenyo Jakoba has informed chief magistrate Gaseitsiwe Tonoki today that he is being beaten by police officers.
He said police officers visit him in prison and threaten to kill him and open a missing person case once they killed him.
Prosecutor Maureen Segokgo informed court that they have not received postmorterm report and they are following lead that might help locate some of the exhibits. They pleaded for his remand to be extended.
Tonoki considered the gravity of the matter and extended his remand warrant.
He warned the police to desist from threatening him and further advised Bakang to report his grieviences to prison boss.
He will mention on 11 January 2024.
