We had an audience with the residents of Mogoditshane at the Main kgotla and Ga-Mmaphadi kgotla as we marked the start of a series of kgotla meetings in the constituency. The objective of these meetings is to deliberate on issues, successes and merits of the parlimentary office for the past three years and to map a way forward for our constituency into the year 2023.
Among issues discussed were the persisting lack of employment particularly among the youth and delays on land allocation caused by many applications before the landboard. We also highlighted that corruption is one of the sources of the delay which ultimately leads to loss of patience by our people.
Representatives from various government institutions addressed various concerns cited by our constituents.
In addressing one of the key issues being the congestion at our health facilities, government has agreed to build a community health centre in our constituency. The Ministry of Finance has availed an estimated sum of 25 million Pula for its construction.
On another milestone to be achieved, the Ministry of Defence and Security has also agreed to furnish Mogoditshane constituency with a Police Post which will strategically be placed in the Ledumadumane area owing to the high crime rates attributed to the area.
Meetings are still ongoing in various Dikgotla for engagement and deliberation on matters affecting our constituency and how they can be best addressed.
