The Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) and the Universal Access and Service Fund (UASF) is conducting an induction workshop for 95 IT officers who will be placed in all primary schools in the Kweneng Region to provide digital awareness and computer maintenance.
The recruitment and placement of these officers follows the installation of internet by BOCRA through UASF in all primary schools in that area. When speaking during the Official Launch of the Induction Workshop, the Assistant Minster of Education and Skills Development, Ms Nnaniki Makwinja encouraged inductees to take advantage of the opportunity given by BOCRA-UASF and her Ministry to gain experience and be patriotic in driving Botswana towards a knowledge based economy. She further called upon the leadership of the Kweneng Region to offer the new IT officers support. “I am happy to note that this induction follows a comprehensive recruitment process done by BOCRA-UASF which took place over months. I therefore encourage the Kweneng Region to embrace this initiative and give our IT Officers unwavering support”, she said.
