Elias Mokhwae a 42 year old man of
Magokotswane ward in Molepolole appeared before principal magistrate Solomon Setshedi for a singlebcount of obtaining credit by false pretence.
Accused said he will conduct his defence.
Particulars of the offence are that on or about 8th December 2022 at GooraSune ward, Mafenyatlala mall in Molepolole, the accused knowingly obtained properties belonging to Furnmart by means of presenting a false identity card in the names of Kabo Morupisi and a false payslip in the names of Kabo Morupisi department code 02-101-AE -01 thereby obtaining the following items;
* black hisense fridge valued at P12 799
* Smart hisense tv 58 inch valued at P9 999
* Samsung A13 cell phone valued at P3 799
Plea was reserved. Asp Motshwari Mokamogo told court that investigations are still at an initial stages as investigating officer is still trying to establish how the accused obtained the documents presented to furnmart to obtaining credit. He opposed bail as they want to locate missing items and accused is the only one who can help.
For his part, accused applied for bail on grounds that prosecution got everything they wanted from him. Ke kopa bail.
“The only missing item is a cellphone and i told the investigating officer that i will buy and give it to Furnmart,” he said. In addition, he said he was alone when committing the crime.
He was admitted to a bail of P1000, ordered to bring two citizen adult sureties who will bind themselves with P1000 each, attend court on all set dates and times and was remanded until he satisfies the bail conditions. He will mention again on 30th May 2023.
